OAFIC is an independent consulting firm and one of Japan's largest comprehensive consulting company specializing in the fisheries, livestock, agriculture and other related sectors including environment. Since its establishment in 1977, OAFIC has completed over 220 projects in its over 40 years of operation in more than 70 developing and developed countries all over the world, and has about 100 natural/social scientists and engineers to provide professional consulting services. OAFIC is listed with, and has done work for, international organizations like the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank (WB), the African Development Bank (AfDB), United Nations organizations such as the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) as well as for bilateral agencies like the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), and the Overseas Fishery Cooperation Foundation (OFCF) of Japan. It has also rendered service to public sector clients, including government agencies at different levels of the bureaucracy, as well as to private business in Japan and overseas.

CSR Activities

OAFIC has great number of development project experiences and knowledge in developing countries. Now we began to contribute supporting the NPO/ NGO`s activities as a part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). In Indonesia, OAFIC is supporting the project “Sustainable Livelihoods Programme for Struggling Fishers in Indonesia (SULFI)” promoting by PNO firm named ALL LIFE LINE NETWORK. SULFI project is designed to provide secure the income for small-scale fishermen and improve their lives implemented by simple seaweed farming. OAFIC has dispatched a seaweed farming expert to this project to guide the technical support and more.
